Track Tuesday. Not a fail...

TRACK TUESDAY!!!

You guys know I hate track. I can't run fast to save my life. But I really don't give up too easily so I went back out for today's workout. 2x400, 800, 3x400. All with 2:15 jog 400's. I felt good. I wanted to feel bad. People always say it's not supposed to be comfortable. So I tried to get there.

I won't blow this up lol but that is sheer sweat. My eyes were stinging from too much overnight eye cream.

The splits were: 1:25, 1:25, 2:51, 1:22, 1:21, 1:20.

Happy Tuesday!!
Laura

  1. I don't know what people say track should be uncomfortable, but they are wrong. The track is for easy running!!! yes easy fast running.

Look at it this way: By all means you are a sub 3hour Marathoner so with that sort of speed you should be able to run sub 40 for 10km and 19:00 for 5km and even faster for 3km and a Mile... I'm not saying go out at run (race) these distances, but that is the pace you train at. So this session you did, was about 3km in distance and you managed, so don't run faster next time (you were running fast enough), just run more... If you ran 12.5 x 400 in 85sec you would have a 17:45 5km... and you know 85 isn't fast!!!

    Good luck

    1. "run more" says the African to the American! I hear you coach Dion! I love your advice! It's getting better. It's taking some adjusting going from marathon training to 10k training. But it's all good! Thanks!

  2. I'm betting your next PRs for 5K and 10K will be 18:55 and 39:55, respectively, as long as the courses are fairly flat. Go get'em!
